David Handwork
David has served as Director of Engineering Services at Arkansas State University since 2001. The Engineering Services department has responsibilities of HVAC maintenance, energy management systems, utilities locating and mapping, graphical services (a.k.a. the sign shop), and space inventory management.
David is an active member of ASHRAE, APPA, CAPPA, and is the current AAFA president. David serves as a voting member on the ASHRAE technical committee TC 9.7 - Education Facilities, and is currently a corresponding member of TC 7.01 – Integrated Building Design, and active involvement on Standard 90.1 energy code. David is serving in APPA on the Code Advocacy Task Force (CATF). The CATF was formed in 2007 to focus and address code issues that affect higher education.
David is a 1988 graduate of Corning High School, Corning Arkansas. He graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1993.
David is currently working toward a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Arkansas via the distance education program. David plans to complete his master’s degree by August of 2009.
